Event Details

A mixed programme of music including Frank Martin’s Mass for Double Choir, Jonathan Dove’s Passing of the Year, and Ben Parry’s lively arrangement of It Don’t Mean a Thing.

This will be Bath Camerata’s first concert in the newly refurbished Holy Trinity Church in Bradford on Avon.

Conductor Benjamin Goodson says:

“Artists, poets and composers have often used the passing of the year’s seasons as a metaphor for the journey of life from birth to death. I love this concert programme for its energy, positivity and the variety with which it tackles this deeply human subject.

I’m certain that Jonathan Dove’s Passing of the Year will go down as a classic of the repertoire. It’s a brilliant set of songs for double choir and virtuoso piano accompaniment. It’s very rhythmic, with beautiful, haunting melodies. We’re also singing music by the current Master of the Queen’s Music, Judith Weir, and by one of Britain’s best young composers, Tarik O’Regan.”
