Prayers and Penitence: Music for Good Friday

We are delighted to be returning to the stunning setting of Wells Cathedral for this Good Friday performance, under the direction of our new Musical Director, Benjamin Kirk.  Benjamin has created a beautiful and fitting programme, including works by Gesualdo, Vittoria, Howells and Vaughan Williams.  The concert also features Estonian composer Cyrillus Kreek’s Taaveti laul Nr. 22 (Psalm 22), and Knut Nystedt’s moving Prayers of Kierkegaard, full of the composer’s Nordic sound world of lush harmonic textures

Admission is free of charge, with a retiring collection for ‘Music in Wells’.  No need to pre-book.  The performance runs for just over an hour and without an interval.
