Bath Camerata Comeback Concerts

We are absolutely thrilled to be performing for you again!  On Saturday 10 October Bath’s Green Park Station will be transformed to host our comeback concerts – two free-to-attend performances of beautiful and uplifting a cappella music.

The programme is as follows:

Orlando Gibbons: O Clap Your Hands
Hubert Parry: There Is An Old Belief
Banjo Patterson (arr. Jonathan Rathbone): Waltzing Matilda
Henry Mancini (arr. Jim Grocott): Moon River
Billy Joel (arr. Bob Chilcott): And So It Goes
Irish Trad (arr. Jonathan Rathbone): Danny Boy

 

Each concert lasts 40 minutes.  Admission is free and there’s no need to pre-book, simply turn up from 20 minutes before a performance and find a marked space to stand or sit (seats are not provided but you are welcome to bring your own). Please be assured that our concert manager is working closely with the GPS/Ethical Property team to ensure a covid-safe experience for both audiences and singers.

 
Our Musical Director Benjamin Goodson is not able to be with us for these events – the UK’s 14-day quarantine rule makes it impossible for him to join us in time from Holland, where he is also Chief Conductor of the Netherlands Radio Choir.  We are delighted however that Bath Abbey’s Assistant Director of Music, Shean Bowers, has stepped in as our guest conductor for these performances.

Needless to say, we have all hugely missed singing as a choir during the past six months, and so are really excited to be planning and rehearsing these concerts for you. We hope very much that you can join us!

As with all planned activities in the coming months, these concerts are subject to the government’s guidance for performing arts events at the time.  We therefore recommend that anyone planning to attend should check in with this website page on the morning of the performances, where we will flag any changes to the arrangements.
