It is with deep regret that we have to announce the cancellation of this concert, by the Sherborne Abbey Festival, due to official advice in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Bath Camerata is thrilled to be performing this titan of the choral repertoire as part of the 2020 Sherborne Abbey Festival. A work of profound emotional and philosophical depth, brimming with intense drama and rich Romantic beauty, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) is also an immensely personal reflection on grief and redemption, and Brahms’s own arrangement for piano duo encapsulates every ounce of the intimacy and detail of his score.
For this concert, the choir and its musical director Benjamin Goodson are joined by outstanding vocal soloists Elizabeth Cragg and Gareth Brynmor John, and the brilliant and masterful Piano 4 Hands.
Tickets: £22
Tickets are on sale now via The Sherborne Abbey Festival website
This is the choir’s second performance of Ein deutsches Requiem this season, following a highly successful visit to Malmesbury Abbey earlier in the year. The tour continues to the Bath Festival on 16 May, and to St George’s Bristol on 1 November 2020.
