Events at Holy Trinity Church

Set by the river in the heart of this beautiful market town, Holy Trinity Church is a delightful Grade 1 listed parish church dating from 1150 but sharing the site with the Saxon church of St Lawrence which was believed to have been in use in the early 8th century.

After the discover in 2006 of a forgotten Flemish masterpiece by Metsis hanging in the church, the painting was sold and the church underwent a £2 million refit to create a wonderful open space for worship and other events.  The renovations included underfloor heating for the magnificent stone floor in the nave.
